Teaching a line to handle 4,000 SKUs

Context

Vesta Freight came to us with a familiar problem: demand that moved faster than their automation could. Vesta replaced three fixed sorters with eight Kineta mobile manipulators across two fulfilment hubs.

Approach

We started with a two-week shadowing sprint on the floor, recording every edge case operators handled by instinct. Those recordings became the first training set for the cell, and the operators became its teachers.

Outcome

Within the first quarter the cells reached 3.2× on throughput per cell, and the team now adds new tasks without writing a line of code.
